This means a lot of people now have Origin installed in their computers. They are adding Origin requirement to almost every game they make, and they make a lot of stuff. bully-like? bullish? bullyesque? They know they have some heavily desired properties and are refusing to give them to Steam to force Origin adoption. On top of that: steam is owned by a competitor. For one: steam is becoming too strong in the field to the point where they hold a near monopoly. EA has solid reasons to want to break Steam's dominance. Not out yet but soon you will get a similar tool built into Windows 8 (hopefully they are smart enough to do like apple did with Snow Leopard, and support Win7 for their app store.) After all, they are going after Google's share of the Android app market.Īnyways, on the Mac there is the Mac App store, which happens to be bigger than steam in the platform (since it's built into the OS.) Bit of a derail here but: I'm shocked Amazon has not attempted a steam competitor yet.
